Our new AppNano AFM probe wafers utilize an improved form-factor to promote extremely easy removal of individual chips. The AFM chips on old-style wafers are completely surrounded by the wafer's support scaffolding, making chip removal difficult and resulting in losses higher than 10% due to dropping, scratching, and breaking during the removal process. Old-style wafers also require sharp tweezers to maneuver into the tight spaces between the scaffolding and the individual chips. With the new AppNano wafers, a portion of the scaffolding has been eliminated to provide enough room for the use of standard tweezers, resulting in much easier probe removal and less loss. This unique design protects the tip side of the AFM chip while allowing the user to freely grab the opposite end for removal. 

AppNano wafers provide an extremely good value to those who regularly use AFM probes. Each wafer contains a minimum of 410 individual AFM probes, and as many as 424 probes. Compare this to other wafers that contain as few as 380 probes.
