AFM of DNA

Lambda phage DNA adsorbed onto Mica
The spaghetti-like DNA structures can clearly be observed on the otherwise rather flat Mica surface. Scan range depicted is about 1 micron.

AFM of Hair

Human hair
Human hair, as imaged with Dynamic mode in air (top) and in water (bottom). The latter results are much cleaner, as adhering substances and particles are dissolved/removed from the hair by the water.

AFM of blood cell

Human Blood Cells
Human blood cells adsorbed onto HOPG and imaged under physiological conditions. (Top) Overview image at 100 μm scan range. (Bottom left) Inset of a single red blood cell at 13 μm scan range. (Bottom right) Inset of a single white blood cell at 15 μm scan range. All images were recorded using Dynamic Mode in phosphate buffered saline.
