The Nanosurf® EasyScan 2 AFM
Applications for surface science

AFM of butterfly wing

Butterfly wing
The image shows a AFM measurement of these optically invisible, fragile structure of a Butterfly wing. Scan size: 10 x 10 microns, vertical 1.6 microns.

The measurement was done in dynamic force operating mode.

AFM of Tooth

Human tooth implant
Surface parameters as roughness and shape of the structures will determine ability and rate of bone healing against the implant surface as well as the final strength of the bone to implant contact and even the degree of bacterial contamination. 80 x 80 micron scan size

AFM of Blueray disk

Blu-ray disk
Blu-ray disks hold much more data than DVD and CD due to their denser packing of data pits. This AFM image shows the pits from a commercial Blue-ray disk.

AFM of polycarbonate grating
Polycarbonate Grating
90x90 micron scan
